What Makes It Awesome?

Haleem originates from way back to the Persian empire in the 6th century but has only been brought to life in the last 4 decades by none other than the Persian Darbar chain of restaurants which was incepted in the year 1978 by Mr. Rauf Suleman Upletawala and carried forward by Mr. Tabrez Upletawala, Mr. Talha Upletawala, and Mr. Faisal.

It is exclusively prepared by special ghota mashers who are specialists and the process can last up to as long as days on end as the mashing is done for hours followed by being cooked in pure ghee with the paste of almonds, cashews, pistachios for 12 hours. It is cooked on firewood in a special copper vessel with no trans fat or artificial colour.

Persian Haleem promises a great nutrient value as well and is very good for health. Persian Darbar is selling this yummy dish for only 1 month; yes you heard that right! It is specially made to serve the Mumbaikars during the holy month of Ramzaan. Their campaign headline reads- Eat it or Miss it, solely because if you miss it, you will have to wait for an entire year before they bring it back.

You can relish the Haleem at all original Persian Darbar outlets (Bandra, Andheri, Kurla) or you can order it online via Zomato.

They have also made the Haleem available at many areas across the city as a takeaway, priced at a decent INR of 160/-
