What Makes It Awesome

To make our lives easier, the health department at BMC is all set to install sanitary pad vending machines in the city by February. The pilot will be tested at five major hospitals in the city - Malad Mother & Child Hospital, Marol Maternity Hospital, Anandibai Joshi Hospital and others.

The users will have to insert a 5-rupee coin in the machine for a pad. KEM Hospital will also see the installation of a pad-disposal machine that’ll encourage cleanliness.

What Could Be Better?

While the move is fantastic to encourage women in the weaker strata to use pads instead of cloth, we wish they also extend this to restaurants and other public places.

Anything Else?

The move seems great for the ladies, now all we need to see is how they bring it closer to the public.
