Fantastic Crab & Wine Festival

What Makes It Awesome?

If you are a crab lover, you cannot miss this fantastic Crab & Wine Festival at Mahesh Lunch Home (Juhu). This restaurant had opened in 2002 and celebrates its anniversary every year with the Crab & Wine Festival which is for a limited period. This is their 18th year and to celebrate, they have introduced a special Crab menu (more than 20 new crab preparations).

They have made a huge crab decor at the entrance for everyone to know that the festival is going on. I went there with my dad and brother on Sunday for Lunch. No wonder that the restaurant was completely packed.

So, to begin with, we ordered

🍲Soup:
🦀Crab Salad Chili Soup – Very delicious and spicy Crab soup with fresh salad. I loved the taste. For those who like the taste of crab but are bored to remove the shell and eat, this crab soup is for you 😊

🦀Crab Pepper Soup – A thick and creamy soup made in milk which had bell pepper and some Indian herbs. Super tasty and good consistency.

Starters:
🦀Salt & Pepper Crab – The Crab is deshelled, and the meat is removed which is tossed with bell peppers and crushed pepper. I loved the taste completely. A very easy to eat crab starter because it is already deshelled.

🦀Sri Lankan Tandoori Crab – Well, the description had that it was having strong paprika, which I didn’t see, but ordered because it was tandoori 😊. The marination taste was just perfect (on a spicy side) and the tandoor was done to perfection. Simply go for it (if you like spicy crab)

🍽Mains
🦀Tender Coconut Crab Masala - A steamed crab cooked in rich tender coconut gravy. The taste was heavenly. A little on a sweeter side. But trust me, it was delectable.

🦀Kekra Jhal - A typical Bengali style spicy gravy with crab cooked to perfection.

Overall both the dishes had completely different tastes and were super yummy. We ordered Appam, Neer Dosa and steamed rice to go along with the crab gravy.

You must be wondering where the Wine in this is. So, here is the best part (T&C apply).

They serve:
🍷A glass of Sula Wine with regular crab
🍷A pint of Sula with Jumbo crab of value up to ₹ 3000
🍾A Bottle of Sula Wine with a Jumbo crab value above ₹ 3001
