What Makes It Awesome?

Do you remember that feeling when you entered your college canteen on the first day of college? Something so familiar, something you used to subconsciously look forward to, but never thought of it particularly. Something close to your heart, something homely, cosy, packed, and something yours. You can experience the exact same feeling when you visit Leopold Café. The vibe is so good, you can actually sit here for a long time and reminisce about good old times!

As soon as you enter, the first to grab all your attention are the walls. Each corner speaks and tells you how funky yet old-school it is. From an old wall art which captures the vibe of the café to a wall covered with Harley Davidson metal plates, Leopold Café will give your eyes enough to relish. It even has a wall art of Abbey Road in its full glory, with waiters flaunting Leopold T-shirts as they walk past it. With an attentive staff in their arsenal, you will feel nothing but comfortable once you take a seat.

What To Eat At Leopold Café

Leopold Café has a variety of fresh juices, milkshakes, teas, coffee and cocktails. But we’re a little partial towards their classic pint of beer and a glass of watermelon juice which is the perfect refresher. Try their coke float and chikoo milkshake too while you are at it.

When it comes to the food, Leopold Café flaunts a wide variety of snacks, salads, appetisers, burgers, pasta and other dishes from the tandoor. The quantity is awesome and not just us, but everyone who has visited here once can vouch for the quality. You cannot go wrong with their chicken wings and chicken stroganoff which is absolutely delicious. If you are in the mood for some Chinese, they have a special menu dedicated to that.

Even if you feel full by the end of the meal, you cannot pass on the dessert. The menu is super tempting and you don’t want to miss out on the chance to taste their amazing cheesecake. You can go for their classic Leopold cheesecake and believe us when we tell you this, we didn’t speak until it was over {because no one wanted to stop eating it}. It was perfect, the texture, the taste and the temperature. For about 5 minutes, there were just people digging in!

So, if you are in Colaba, ticking off your shopping list, and looking for a place to chill, stop by this good old café. It’s legendary. It will always stay so!

Highlights Of The Place

The cafe is one of the places where bullet marks from the 26/11 Mumbai attack are still preserved and people flock here just to witness that. One of the oldest Irani cafes, established in the year 1871, it has been featured in a famous novel Shantaram along with its sequel The Mountain Shadow by Gregory David Roberts. Almost thousands of people visit the cafe on a daily basis. Before becoming a legendary cafe, it was first a wholesale oil store which later converted into a convenience store and then a medical store.

How To Reach

You can reach Leopold Cafe by train or bus. Get off at Churchgate or CST Station and walk straight to the cafe, or take the bus from these stations to the nearest stop, 'Holy Name School'.

LBB-Tip

Waiting time is slightly higher because it’s constantly crowded (it’s a favourite of foreigners), so we suggest you book a table and also call the place beforehand in case you’re going in a group.
