Founded in 1954, Old Monk became an instant hit and earned the iconic status, what with its huge popularity with Indians. This news surely saddens us, and on that note, we’d like to thank the founder of our favourite dark rum, for giving us a lot more than just amazing memories.
The Man Behind Old Monk Has Passed Away, And Here's Why We Will Always Thank Him
What Is It?
Go On...
Have it with some Coke or Thums Up {whatever you prefer} and take some chakli and schezwan sauce for company, for this combination can never go wrong. The thought of Old Monk takes us back to college, for it has been our constant companions through good days, bad days, and more importantly, broke days. Over the years our salaries may have increased, but so has the love for this drink. And over time, it has definitely been used in dishes we’d never imagine.
For example, you could relish a Flaming Old Monk Pizza at Pizza By The Bay, or indulge in some sinful Old Monk Ice Cream at Scoopalicious. Wait, there’s more. How about some delicious Old Monk Gulab Jamun? If you’re not a fan of its bizarre variations, you can always go back to our favourite wholesale liquor shop in Mumbai and buy some of these Old Monk bottles in abundance.
So, We're Saying...
You’re never too rich or never too old to have some Old Monk. And with every sip, we will surely remember the man who introduced us all to this drink.
