One day Trek To Peb Fort

What's Happening

Located near one of the most popular and our favourite eco-friendly hill stations - Matheran, Peb Fort, attracts multiple one-day trekkers for its beauty and lush greenery. A trek to this hill fort is full of surprises. As you head towards the fort you’ll get a chance to explore some beautiful caves, old temples, breath-taking view and a few meditation chambers. Once you’ve reached the fort you’ll get an amazing picturesque view of the clouds, clear skies and a 360-degree view of the entire Matheran hill range. You’ll also witness a few other historic forts and hills from the top of this fort. As the difficulty level of this trek is ‘easy to moderate’ it shouldn’t be a very difficult one for the beginner level trekkers as well. It’s a roughly three to four trek, so be prepped to walk a lot and put on your sturdy walking shoes.

The meeting point for this trek is the CST station from where you’ll catch a train to Neral. After reaching Neral and a quick breakfast, you’ll head to the village base from where the trek starts. In the entire journey, the trekkers will be guided by certified trekking experts.

How's The Venue

Peb Fort, also called as Vikatagad Fort, is located at a height of 2100 feet and was first discovered in the 1850s. It is also believed that this fort was used by Shivaji Maharaj to store food grains.

Pro-Tip

We'd say, as it includes a long walk and climbing up a mountain, travel as light as possible. Carry enough water to stay hydrated, a thick raincoat or jacket and personal identity.
