The wedding day is the most special day in a couple’s life (or so we’ve been told). And though the wedding takes away all the attention, the way you announce it is equally special and important. To make sure your special news goes out the special way, we’ve featured our favourite go-to wedding card designers and artists from Mumbai, who’re known to do their job to perfection. Take a look! 

Mira Malhotra, Studio Kohl

Mira Malhotra is a designer and visual artist from Mumbai. She runs a company called Studio Kohl where their wedding card collection, ‘Kiss Papeterie’, features gorgeous, screen printed wedding invites.

The X Factor: Kiss Papeterie has a very classy, elegant yet an exciting vibe to it and the cards are equal parts traditional and quirky. They have played around with a myriad of styles, from motifs to folk arts. In other words, they offer the to-be-bride and groom a hassle free service as one can choose from their in-house templates, and get the samples in advance.

The Budget: They charge anywhere between INR 200 to INR 400 per invite, and the minimum time required to deliver the layout along with the prints is around six to eight weeks.

Kimya Gandhi

Kimya Gandhi is a type designer from Mumbai, and a novice in the wedding card industry with her unusual style of creating invites, in various themes, styles and even format.

The X Factor: A customised experience, from the ideation to the kind of paper you’d like to the end result. From meeting in advance to discussing the way forward, they try to incorporate it all. in fact, if you want a special kind of calligraphy on the cards, or a specific language, it all can be accommodated in the cards.

The Budget: The cards start anywhere from INR 30,000 approximately. Everything is in done on a specified timelines, including the back and forth of samples.

Artsy Design Co.

Artsy Design Co. is a Mumbai-based brand started off by graphic designers Priyanka and Hiral Valia. They specialise in wedding invitations, and glam stationery. Their studio is in Juhu, and you can drop by anytime to discuss in person the approach to your wedding card.

The X Factor: They make bespoke wedding invitations, and have a very quirky way of presenting it to the world. Find beautiful colourful papers, miniature royal paintings or anything really that you’d like for your special day. They take custom orders as well, you just need to tell them what your preferences are.

The Budget: The invitation starts at anywhere between INR 300 to INR 400 per card.

Manasi Parikh

Manasi Parikh dabbles in a bit of everything, from illustrations to paintings, and will also design the card of your dreams for your special D-day.

The X Factor: Manasi’s way of weaving the couple’s stories, or their ‘meet-cute’ onto the wedding cards is exceptional. She tells us that she loves capturing what’s happening around her, and that plays out beautifully for designing wedding cards. Her foray into the wedding genre happened when a Bengali friend fell in love with a Punjabi man, and to commemorate their sweet story, she designed a card for them. If you’re looking for a playful design for your invites, Manasi is your go-to person.

The Budget: A typical illustrated card would start at INR 12,000 upward. Do keep in mind to give her a heads up at least a month in advance to stay on top of the timeline.

Customizing Creativity, Worli

This one's a Mumbai-based lifestyle-design studio started by partners Disha and Harsh Munshaw, and it's been in the industry since nine years now. And together they've been doing wedding cards right. 

The X Factor: They believe that a wedding card is the first peek-a-boo of a couple's love story that the people get. So its got to be out of the world. Customizing Creativity inculcates the traditions, flavours and cultures of two people in a card, and that creative touch is what makes their work special. 

Budget: The price per card really depends on the kind of design you want. Their bespoke collections begin at INR 600 per card though.
