Delicious Parsi Grub Comes To Powai With A New Branch Of SodaBottleOpenerWala

The quirky Irani Cafe and bar that brought the niche cuisine to our mundane life, Sodabottleopenerwala is all set to open its door to the public on April 23 in Powai.

Spreading its Parsi quirk and food fare to a third location in Mumbai, SodaBottleOpenerWala is the good news awaiting Powai residents. Parsi cuisine for the longest time has been restricted to Bandra and Thane but no more. They can just head over the cafe and get a wholesome Parsi meal.

The decor will be on the same lines of other outlets, with their quintessential eclectic Irani posters and old boards talking about the history of Parsi in Mumbai.

The traditional Parsi dishes served with a quirky twist. The new outlet at Powai is not going away from its regular menu, so expect the favourites like berry pulao and chicken farcha will be served there.

Apart from this there’s the egg boiled sandwich, Paatra ni Macchi, a Parsi signature fish preparation coated with coconut green chutney, wrapped in banana leaves and steamed and Squid and Prawn Patio.  They have also introduced the concept of ‘daily specials’ which will have dishes through Monday to Sunday change.

To sip on, they have the their in-house concoction of cocktails with a very unique Parsi twist to them. There’s BumSuckerWala which is basically mixed with vodka, frozen raspberry, and thyme; Mumma nu Double Dose and of course, Bombay Julep which is basically a mix of rum with jardaloo {apricot} and honey with tapped mint leaves, served in a traditional julep glass.

With one more outlet in Powai, SodaBottleOpenerWala has stamped its brand in the great suburbs of Powai, especially for the office-going folks looking for something new and interesting to try out.
