Originally built in 1920s, Taprobane Island comprises of two and a half acres of sheer tropical fantasy. It was Originally called Galduwa {Rock Island} and was later renamed after the Old Greek word for Sri Lanka by its most well-renowned owner, the self-titled Count de Mauny-Talvande.

Sri Lanka’s only privately-owned island has played host to kings, queens, presidents, prime ministers, aristocracy, writers etc. giving you colourful stories to share of the place’s rich history. With nothing lying between it and the South Pole, this fantasy island has a lot in store for you which makes it the perfect dream destination.

    What’s So Unique About It?
