What Makes It Awesome?

So after hearing so much about the amazing Punjabi food at Khyber, I went for dinner at this place with a friend. The ambience is an ancient traditional Indian and looks extremely pretty. We started by having a chuze ka shorba and I liked how well the chicken broth was cooked and could feel the taste of the bones.

Then we ordered tandoori mushrooms and non-veg platter. I must say, we simply loved the tandoori mushrooms. The non-veg platter had Reshmi kebabs, Tangri kebab, seekh kebab and chicken tikka. I would say out of all the things I liked the Reshmi kebabs the best.

Moving to the main course, as we were already pretty full. We decided to stick to the staples. We ordered chicken maakhanwala, butter garlic naan and lachha parantha. I’m not sure if I had the same version of butter chicken in mind when I ordered butter chicken. Since I belong to Delhi and my version of butter chicken is pretty different I was a little disappointed. Nevertheless, it was tasty. I also recommend trying khamiri roti. It’s not to miss.

Lastly, the desserts. I’m such a dessert person that my meal has a special place for desserts. We ordered shahi tukda and phirnee. The Rabri on the Shahi Tukda was simply amazing. To the extent that we gobbled down all the Rabri in the shahi tukda.

What Could Be Better?

The chicken maakhan wala, Tangri kebab.
