Chill Vibes Only: 7 Decadent Ice Creams That Will Make The Heat Bearable

The information in this post might be outdated

What’s the one food you crave all day, all night during summers? I-C-E-C-R-E-A-M! A tub of some really good ice cream can either make or break your day. So, you cannot go wrong with it. Team LBB has, thus, curated the list of 7 ice creams that are highly recommended this season.

Black Ice Cream & Ice Cream Tacos | IceKraft

Dig in to the scrumptious black ice cream from IceKraft which we hear is made of activated charcoal and contains no artificial colour or preservatives. You can get this decadent black beaut of an ice cream in either a cone or a waffle or a freakshake.

Another recommendation from IceKraft (that we just couldn’t miss) is their mouthwatering ‘funfare’ ice cream taco served with absolute berry ice cream topped with candied jujubes with fruit cereals drizzled with rainbow sprinkles and fresh fruits and berry compote.

Spice Cream | Zaika

Located right beside Shabree restaurant, Zaika has been churning out the most interesting flavours of homemade ice cream, since 2007. Infused with Indian spices, they have an array of ‘spice creams’ in rose petals, bay leaf and elaichi flavours served in wooden bowls. We absolutely loved their nutmeg/jaiphal ice cream that tasted almost like Christmas eggnog! Priced at INR 60 for a scoop, the dessert (much to our surprise) was mildly sweet, very fresh and adequately creamy.

Pot Ice Cream | Khatri Bandhu

Khatri Bandhu at Karve Nagar, near Vittal Madir has been selling the best of gourmet pot ice creams and creamy mastanis for over two decades.

What makes Khatri Bandhu different is the fact that they make fresh ice cream in traditional wooden pots, without any artificial flavours or sweetening agents. Their assortment of desserts, made of boiled milk, seasonal fruits and nuts, is very light on the palate and the pocket.

We highly recommend you try their mawa, pista, gulkhand and mango ice creams, all for INR 30 for a scoop. Starting at INR 75, their sitaphal, kesar dryfruit and chocolate mastanis are a must-try!

Panipuri Ice Cream | Apsara

The panipuri ice cream from Apsara is exactly the kind of dessert you need for the scorching summers. Priced at INR 50, this pale green ice cream is made of pudina, green chillies and dhaniya tamarind juice. What we loved is the dessert had the perfect balance in flavours – the tangy-minty taste with every bite followed by a mild sweetness from the tamarind.

Eiffel Tower Double Chocolate | Mr. Dumpu Delicious

At Mr.Dumpu Delicious in Aundh, you can eat your favourite ice cream in three different sizes – student, warrior and master. Of course, each size is priced differently. While the student size will cost you only INR 99, the warrior and master sizes will cost you INR 149 and INR 210 respectively. For summers though, don’t look beyond their Eiffel Tower double chocolate, full of choco chips, choco sauce and more.

Badam Jalebi Ice Cream | Dezart

The Badam Jalebi at Dezart in Deccan Gymkhana is everything yum and awsome! The dessert is plated at the table and comprises vanilla sponge mixed with condensed milk and dryfruits, topped with icecream and freshly made hot crispy jalebis. Priced at INR 250, this is what your summer dreams should look like!

Fruit Factory | Oh So Stoned

Who doesn’t love tad bit of fresh fruits in their dessert? The fruit factory from Oh So Stoned in Baner fits the bills perfectly. Priced at INR 129 (for a small one) and INR 199 (for large), the dessert is a crunchy blend of rich vanilla ice cream with kiwi, pomegranate, apples, litchi and cherry, topped with jiggly jelly, strawberry syrup and whipped cream.
