The idea behind Thirsty Turban is to strike a balance between funk and hard-core Punjabi tradition. A first-of-its-kind open-air lounge and bar, this place, interestingly enough, has an immediate dhaba-feel when you enter. The decor has a rustic touch and is made out of recycled scrap. The food will be made in four old-school chulhas to add an earthy flavour to your dishes. What else? We hear liquor will be served in brass kettles and chai glasses out here. Now, that’s something quirky and new!
The food menu will be all about belly-filling budget-friendly Punjabi food. Some of the signature dishes will include butter chicken, sarso ka saag, dal makhani, chicken sukka, chicken kalimiri and palak paneer.
All that sounds awesome, but the greatest news is that Thirsty Turban will perhaps, be one of the first places in Pune to allow the bring-your-booze {BYOB} trend, post the liquor ban lift. We hear they will have a BYOB night every week {day isn’t decided yet}, where you can buy your own alcohol, come to TT with the squad and drink it for just INR 99 per person.
