Considered a beautiful weekend getaway, Morarchi Chincholi is a picnic spot destination for Pune and Mumbai people. A 25-acre peacock village near Pune, the compound houses peacocks, peahens and other local wildlife. For the purpose of sheltering and nestling of the birds, the tamarind trees have been maintained here. The Maharashtra government organises tours at INR 500 per head. The village is a model in Agri tourism in the state.
You can either choose to go inside the sanctuary or visit the attractions around. The natural potholes at Nighoj are about 12kms from here so you can cover this, along with Ramlinga temple at Ramling which is sort of an architectural spectacle.
