Belonging to the guitar family, the four stringed instrument of ukulele has always made us clap our hands or snap our fingers to it’s rhythm. And if you want to learn this make-your-feet-tap instrument, there’s no one better than Luv Mahtani to teach you to hit the right chords.
A musician, ukulele player, teacher, event manager and music curator, Luv was introduced to the ukulele in the year 2012. He tells us that since the time he got introduced to this instrument, he couldn’t really get his hands on one until the year 2014. Post 2014, for the past five years, Mahtani hasn’t looked back and has made Pune swing and sing along to his tunes.
You can catch Mahtani at a number of places across the country. Even if his number of performances has reduced, he tells us that it’s easy to spot him at various places across Pune (provided he is in town).
When it comes to teaching the ukulele, Mahtani conducts regular classes from Koregaon Park and Camp area. His classes are hosted twice a week and he conducts eight in a month. He holds ukulele classes at two levels one: beginner and second at the intermediate level. The beginners' classes easily last for about three months. Apart from these classes, Mahtani is also available for the occasional private classes. Furthermore, he also hosts a number of basic ukulele workshops in Pune. You can stay updated on his pop-up workshops through his Instagram page as well.
The pricing for a ukulele class is between INR 2500 to 3000 for a month. His pricing of private sessions is completely dependent on your tonality with the instrument as well as your teacher. You can also listen to Mahtani's music on his Instagram page. Through his page, he keeps on releasing videos of his jam sessions, workshops and much more.
