We all crave for a different and unique experience every time we go out to dine somewhere. One such place offering a whole new experience is Palette, a newly opened restaurant in The Westin that changes its menu, cuisine and chef every month. Yes, you heard it right- every single month. This January, they are serving authentic Sri-Lankan delicacies from their kitchen.
Team LBB had the chance to have an up, close and personal rendezvous with the exotic flavours of the island country. And guess what? We give 10 on 10 to the flavours that were on point. For starters, the chef served us the authentic vegetable Sri-Lankan cutlets. This dish topped on the taste list. This was followed by two soups- the vegetarian SL Mulligatawny and Ceylon Mutton Broth. The best thing about the soups was that they were spiced, not with chillis but with the goodness of pepper, star anise and other good old spices.
Then came the shrimp starters along with the Isso Wade with Sambal and coconut chicken salad that were high on the coconutty flavour. It was the mains that were simply fulfilling. We had the Dhal with red rice which is a Sri-Lankan classic. Along with that, we were served the tampered potato, egg hopper and chicken curry. For those who love sea-food, there are options galore for prawn and fish curries.
They have an authentic range of desserts which include the Watalappam, a cardamom-flavoured pudding and Kithul yoghurt. We cannot wait to visit them next month when they will be serving authentic Thai food.
The decor is tastefully done-up with sleek and minimalistic walls and furniture. You can come down with your friends and family to get a glimpse of different cuisines across the world and pamper your palette.
