Studio Doodle Tales in Baner is a haven for artists, hobbyists, and especially anyone who wants to explore their creative side. What did we love about it? Read on to find out.

Started by one of our favourite homegrown brands – The Doodle Factory {more on them here}, in collaboration with home-decor label House of Tales, ‘Studio Doodle Tales’ was started in September of last year. Located in a 2-storey apartment in Baner, the studio is busy with activities and events throughout the week – but more so on weekends. The Doodle Factory’s Aditi Deo tell us that she and Manila Subhash {House of Tales} wanted to give people a space to try enriching activities, ones that encourage self-reliance and joy. After all, there’s no better joy than creating something with your own two hands! We love their studio space – lively hand-painted murals adorn almost every wall, there’s plenty of natural sunlight that pours right onto the craft tables, and the whole vibe is cosy and cute. Aditi hosts frequent workshops tailored around brush lettering, modern calligraphy, doodling, and other contemporary art; whereas Manila curates workshops centered around tribal arts, bringing in artisans to teach their skills in a hands-on way {think Madhubani art, lippan kaam, etc}. Saturdays are busiest, with an organic Farmer’s Market pop-up featuring fresh and sustainable produce from local producers. Calligraphy workshops happen on weekends, and embroidery workshops for kids happen twice a week. On the last Saturday of each month, embroidery, crochet, and knitting clubs {all individual} host meet-ups at the studio, open to hobbyists of all ages and skill levels.

There’s also a little shop in the studio, where you can pick up merch made by The Doodle Factory and House of Tales. From notebooks to shopping bags, handkerchiefs, and illustrated note-cards; wooden trays, organisers, wine racks, and more – they make great gifts {even to yourself}!
