Bed is perhaps the only thing that can turn your unfurnished flat into a cosy home. And, having said that, there shouldn’t be any compromise whatsoever. If you want to replicate the room {in the pictures} and get a bed that looks similar, we recommend go for this one for INR 6,210. However, if you’re looking for more affordable options, may we suggest you look for wrought iron beds that are much lighter and cheaper. We found this one for INR 4,410.

Wardrobe & Couch

For those of you who love to keep it simple, hunt for second-hand cabinets or colorful trunks for as low as INR 1,000 from Juna Bazaar that is open only on Sundays and Wednesdays. And, while you’re there, look for gramophones and antique telephones to give a rustic edgy look to your space.

If Juna Bazaar, doesn’t work out and you don’t have enough money for an immediate payment, we recommend you rent furniture from any of these stores. We personally, love the services by RentoMojo and recommend you check out this two-door wooden wardrobe, starting at INR 269 per month and this three-seater couch, starting at INR 469 per month.

Cushions & Curtains

The home decor collection at Either Or is a burst of vibrant eco-friendly products, starting from hanging lanterns to posters, monolithic coasters, bead-embedded mirrors and more. We particularly love their cushions {INR 500-INR 1,200} with elegant floral prints, traditional embroidery and even quirky prints inspired from an old Hindi film poster. For bedsheets and curtains, we recommend you check out the beautiful collection at the Poona Gifts Store. Starting at INR 400, the products adorn Rajasthani paintings and intricate embroidery.

Rugs & Durries

Art Etc at Gaekwad Nagar in Aundh is your one-stop-shop for shawls, rugs and bed linen in gorgeous block prints, all the way from Jaipur and Jodhpur. We recommend you check out their cotton durries in pastel shades and geometrical patterns, starting at INR 950. You can also check out the Maharashtra Jail Industry retail shop at Yerawada Central Prison for budget-friendly, colorful dhurries, starting from INR 148 for 2×2 size, to INR 3548 for 12×8 size.

Lights

When it comes to lights, don’t look beyond Tapkir Galli at Budhwar Peth. The place is a treasure trove for lanterns, starting at INR 600, chandeliers for INR 350 and fairy lights for INR 120 per metre.

Pots, Plants & More

We found this cute nursery on Abhimanshree Chowk in Baner, that sells gorgeous stuff for your home and garden for as low as INR 50. There is an abundance of winter flowers out here; from exotic Amaryllis to charming Camellia, marigold and hybrid tea roses. If you want something low maintenance, we recommend you go for succulents or grafted cactus. Also, check out the hand-painted ceramic pots for INR 380 and wall-hanging for INR 150.
