And to be honest, one of our favourite places in the city to shop for books is in the artistic and beautiful Colaba.

Janata Book Depot in Colaba has been around for years, and a is a one-stop-shop for those hoarding college books. From English to History, to even engineering books, this is where you get your fix. Sniff away, we say. They generally have new college books and all the latest editions as well.
Vora Book House has been in Colaba for more than a decade now. They have books spanning all academic genres. From accountancy to biology, engineering, history and so many more. In fact, you can check their website as well and buy the books off there.
We’ve been told you can also return the books post an academic session is over (obviously for half the price).
Art & Design Bookstore in Colaba is a hidden gem. It’s a bookstore dedicated purely to architecture and design books – so all the students studying these subjects, you know where to go.
The bookstore in itself is a beautiful space – even if you don’t want to pick up something, you can walk in and check out the well-stocked racks, and glossy books. If you’re looking for international design magazines, or a specific book by your favourite designer, ask them. Some of the popular books like Le Corbusier’s Chandigarh, Anish Kapoor’s sculptures and Tadao Ando’s details, and more rest here.
Super Book House in Colaba is another great place for you to get your new academic books. There’s something for everyone – urban planning, architecture and design, transportation, fashion, textiles apart from regular subjects like Hindi, Sanskrit and so on. They also have an extremely active Facebook page wherein they have super saver deals on the books that are not available at their store.
