Ten-Second Takeaway

We believe retail therapy is the best kind of therapy; nothing makes a bad day better than walking into a boutique and walking out with shopping bags in each hand. So, we’ve rounded up some of our favourite boutiques in the city and we suggest you bookmark this list the next time you’re in the mood for a shopping spree.

Neemrana

There’s nothing better than a store that sells beautiful silks, Lucknowi-style kurtis and more. Neemrana is one such store in Bandra that has a lovely, but expensive, collection of embroidered clothing, with a focus on chikankari work and pastel colours, that is perfect for summer.

If your mother is in town, head here for a day of shopping {and bonding!}. The kurtis start at INR 1,800 and go up to INR 6,000 {depending on the intricacy of the work}. You can find out more here.

Timannya

Do you love ethnic clothes so much that you don’t mind splurging on them? Timannya by Purvi in Andheri West offers gorgeous prints, kurtis, kurta dresses {don’t we just love them?}, and a range of jackets.

The collection is definitely luxurious, so shopping here may burn a hole in your pocket {pieces start at INR 1,800}, but they’re lovely as ever. You can read more about Timannya here.

Addrey

Addrey {in Opera House in Colaba or in Andheri West} is one of the most affordable and chic boutiques in the city. Run by a sister-duo, Addrey sources most of its clothes from Korea, Thailand {or whichever country they travel to}. So, you’ll find that their collection is extremely chic and on-trend.

From summery skirts to formal tops, everything this boutique stocks is affordable; prices are between INR 800 and INR 1,200. Don’t forget to accessorise – Addrey also has a great collection of shoes and bags.

You can find out more about this store here.

Ashlyn And Jane

Love wearing cotton? Ashlyn and Jane, a lesser-known store in Bandra, should definitely be on your shopping bucket list. The collection at this changes every month or so and is extremely affordable. We love their printed kurtis {between INR 800 and NR 1,000} and the palazzos as well.

Find out more here.

One Point Six

One Point Six, a boutique that opened in Versova only a few months ago, doubles up as a cafe and is the first-of-its-kind in the city. With a lovely collection of ikat, block-printed and cotton clothing, their collection is rather delightful.

We also love that they believe in sustainable fashion and follow a strict no-waste policy. The kurtis and dresses start at INR 1,600 and you can read more about One Point Six here.

Lucknowi Crafts

Lucknowi Crafts has been around for years and is definitely one of our favourite boutiques in the city. Step in and shop their beautiful embroidery work {some of the finest in the city} without spending a bomb. Everything, from the gorgeous silk kurtas to the shorter kurtis with chikan work, starts at INR 800.  Of course, the more intricate the work, the higher the price. You can read more here.
