With the endless number of womenswear boutiques existing (think the likes of Le Mill in Colaba) and springing up in the city every day, it was time for Mumbai to do something for the men, and Curato did just that. They opened Mumbai's first multi-designer menswear store in Khar and we can't stop going gaga over it!
The brainchild of marketing professionals Shaibani Bhagat and Tanisha Rahimtoola Agarwal, Curato sits comfortably in one of the many busy bylanes of Khar.
Spread over a massive area of 1500 sq. ft. of space, Curato exhibits a beautifully curated collective of 40 renowned and budding designers across different categories and here you will find everything from apparel to footwear and even accessories (sounds like the dream, doesn't it?!). You will find designers such as Rajesh Pratap Singh Rohit Gandhi & Rahul Khanna, Kunal Rawal, Masaba & Payal Singhal for classic Indian wear, Nikhil Thampi, Sahil Kocchar & Pawan Sachdeva for edgy formal wear, Antar Agni, & Bloni for androgynous wear, Dhruv Kapoor, Nought One & Two Point Two for hip athleisure, and Khanijo, Shift, A’men & Doodlage for trendy casual wear amongst many more here.
What sets this concept store apart from the others is that it is housed in a bungalow (with a quaint garden too) and is divided into different rooms, each showcasing a different category of men's fashion- the athleisure room, the casual room, the Purple Room and the wedding room.
While the Blue Room boasts of a variety of athleisure wear (for those who believe in their airport looks) and more, the casual section brings to you really simple as well as funky casual wear (think flamingo shirts) that you can sport almost every day and add a little bit of classy to your casual. The Purple Room is a notch higher than the other two. Here you will find shirts, jackets, suits, kurtas, bandis and more; you've got to amp up your dress game boys! The last, but not the least is the Green Room. Renowned designers like Masaba (yes, it's her), Payal Singhal and others have come together to stock their first ever men's collections. You will also find collections from Khanijo, Rajesh Pratap Singh and others who have been around in the industry acing the menswear fashion game and how! We just couldn't get our eyes off every single piece in the room.
Don't forget to check out their array of accessories ranging from cuff links to leather bags and wallets.
