We totally understand the vegetarian's apprehension to eat at restaurants that serve non-vegetarian food. Call it being paranoid or particular, but I think we all deserve to have a (romantic) meal without worrying about cross-contamination in the kitchen...So we sorted it all out for you. These places are romantic, shakahari-friendly, and some of them have booze, too!

Quattro Ristorante, Lower Parel

Their menu serves up vegetarian Italian fare with an Indian twist. And yes, it's kaafi romantic. Think candlelight, polite service, a soothing ambiance and beautiful-looking vegetarian food.

What To Eat (Together): Fajitas, corn cakes, Mexican Tortilla and red beans

Shell Out: INR 1,300 for two

P.S: If you're both still going strong on those New Year's resolutions, firstly, WOW - Secondly, they've got a whole separate menu for healthy fare! It's called Quattro Skinny, and it's pretty loaded with options. It's also got a ton of vegan options.

Breeze Lounge, Powai

A rooftop restaurant with a gorgeous view of the Powai lake, we think this place is the ideal date night location. For a city like Mumbai, there’s nothing more romantic than a view of an open lake, and the city skyline. Sit here and take in the breeze together!

What To Eat (Together): Basil Garlic Paneer, Celery Thyme in Mushroom, Greek Style Pizza, and the Homemade Ravioli with Creamy Sauce. Please conclude with their amazing Peanut Butter Cheesecake!

Shell Out: INR 2,600 for two

P.S: Get here early, because they don't take reservations... And waiting for a table is NOT romantic!

Burma Burma, Fort

What better date place than Burma Burma to be blown away by traditional Burmese food? We love their menu, for its authenticity, and what's not to love about the folksy decor? We're sure your date will be impressed by how cultured you are, if you take them here. Also, we know this isn't exactly romantic... But the cutlery is beautiful.

What To Eat (Together): The Shwepayon Hincho (Pumpkin and Basil Soup), the Mopi Salai (Pan-fried dumplings), and the Laphet Hatmin Kyaw (AKA Fried Rice with Tea Leaves). All the Khow Sueys are stellar, too!

Shell Out: INR 1,600 for two

P.S: They don't serve alcohol, so in case you really want to have a drink, schedule that part for before/after your meal!

Spesso Gourmet Kitchen, Nariman Point

Spesso's an all-time favourite. With tables lined in long rows, the ambiance is cozy and communal, but still date-friendly. Head here if you're spending V-Day evening together after a long day at work, in SoBo. The food's wholesome, and non-pretentious.

What To Eat (Together): The Crispy Vol-Au-Vent Boxes, the Mexican Pizza, and the egg-free French Macarons, and the Tiramisu Della Casa.

Shell Out: INR 1,300 for two

P.S: They don't serve alcohol, but do try their Chocotini (INR 230) and the Valentino Love Shake (INR 225)

Quesso Bar Ristorante, Oshiwara

This one's a quiet spot above the VERY noisy Shreejee's, and the VERY noisy Link Road. Another old-timey favourite, Quesso is the kind of place that has candlelight dinners on Mondays, so you can bet this one's kaafi romantic. If one of you is craving Italian fare, and the other's craving Thai, you'll both be sorted here.

What To Eat (Together): Wild Mushroom Broth with Cheese & Parsley, the Fondue Pot, and the Cannelloni

Shell out: INR 1,700 for two

Sante Spa Cuisine, BKC

The décor here reminds you of a time in South-East Asia - surrounded by bamboo walls, recycled lamps, a bookshelf with colour-coded books and elements of greenery that add to the charm. The cutlery has neem wood plates, banana leaf straws, copper glasses for water, to name a few. If you're an eco-conscious couple and like to keep things healthy (but tasty) Sante Spa is going to be your jam for a very long time.

What To Eat (Together): Spinach Hummus, Green Pav Bhaji, Mushroom Dumplings

Shell Out: INR 1,900 for two

Candy & Green, Breach Candy

Vegetarian (and vegan) couples can rejoice because SoBo’s Candy and Green serves delectable varieties in both the food options. The ambience is fresh and has a lot of greens, and the food cuts across boundaries of cuisines or countries, simply combining good flavors made from local ingredients.

What To Eat (Together): Mexican tomato soup with tortilla chips, or Moroccan lentils, and plenty of delicious salads to choose from.

Shell Out: INR 2,000 for two
