What Makes It Awesome?

Mabruk – One of Sahara Star’s most loved restaurant apart from Namak stands Mabruk in my opinion. If one wants to experience a true Lebanese cuisine this could definitely be touted as the supreme option in Mumbai thanks to its beautiful open seating ambience in Lagoon area with spectacular view of entire Sahara Star on the other side, one of the most comfortable couches to sit on for hours and hear the serene sound of water pond making your evening beautiful with the rabab player at his best.

We started off our drinks with Lemon Maa Ward (Rating 5/5) which was fresh, minty with hint of rose water a perfect mojito kind of a mocktail if one wants to relate it to and Koshaf (Rating 4/5) made up of apricot, mango pulp with some nuts and blended with orange juice, was relatively thick in consistency and more like a Slice if one wants to relate it to.

Later we had Cold Mezze platter (Rating 5/5) which comprised of Hummus (loved its consistency), Babaganouj (well balanced aubergine mashed), labaneh (not too sour but thick, creamy and great consistency), Muhamaara (definitely not the best one I had), Fattoush (refreshing bread salad and great savory accompaniment)

followed by Hot Mezze platter (Rating 5/5) which comprised of Sambousek Lahem (loved the lamb meat), Kibbeh (crispy yet delicious lamb), B’shawerma d’jaj (slightly overpowering on masala but good on taste), Cigar al hout (great filling of assorted seafood) and bkhodar (delicious veg filling with spicy ras al hanout)

For mains, we tried their Tagine D’Jaj (Rating 5/5) a Moroccan clay pot speciality comprising of veggies and chicken with couscous. The dish looked very unique, tasted too earthy, rustic, simple yet flavoursome.

In desserts, we tried Baklava (Rating 5/5) and Kanafeh (Rating 5/5) and can't describe enough in words. You need to definitely try it.  If these are hyped then they are worth the hype.

Mabruk is all about experience, great hospitality and beautiful Mediterranean cuisine and I enjoyed it to the core and hence I rate it a 5.
