This list won’t be complete without Gokul – the most popular dive bar in South Bombay. A hot spot for students, executives and others alike, Gokul serves bar food for you to to hog on. Do check out Gokul Bites {open till 3:30am}, right outside Gokul. Gokul is still easy on the pocket and despite its crowd, chances of you encountering shady, creepy fellas are little. When you go there, opt to sit in the section upstairs {downstairs isn’t for you, really}. Smoking is permitted in the section upstairs.

A hole-in-the wall establishment, Sujata Lunch Home will take you in when money tides run low. Try surmai masala {INR150}, chicken masala {INR 110}, egg bhurji {INR 30} and more here. It opens at 11am and takes you in till midnight. Don’t expect cocktails to be served here, just sit with a peg or a pint and be happy. Colaba surely has some hidden gems and Sujata Lunch Home is a significant one.
