Namak – The only place that comes to your mind for the opulence of Mughlai cuisine is none other than this place. One of the five restaurants located inside Sahara Star, this wonderful place has a chic dé cor and impeccable service with a live kitchen view while you are seated comfortably with your family.
Post-Covid lockdown, I was tempted to be at this place so had recently. The warm welcome remains synonymous to this place and with extra cautions taken by the place which you see from the entrance till you are seated, you are assured that health and safety of guests are epitomai on their checklist with a seamless experience.
We began our lunch with a fresh watermelon juice ). Yes fresh from the blender with no sugar/ice, you get exactly what you ask for.
In appetizers, we tried Dhunar Murgh Tikka, Murgh Malai Kebab & Tandoori Jhinga Kali mirch ) all three were super-sized in individual portions. In terms of the taste, I personally loved malai kebabs, though malai kebabs are typically bland at other places, there’s were filled with smoky flavour and creamy texture due to perfectly chargrilled to perfection. Those who love prawns, do try their tandoori jhinga kali mirch, amazing option for seafood lovers.
In mains, we had, Masaledar Kadhai Murg, Ambade Ka Murgh and Dal Makhani with kulcha. Hands down, kindly order Ambade ka Murgh. It is the most delicious version of chicken tikka masala I have ever had in a long long time. Loved everything from its chicken pieces to the scrumptious curry masala. Another chicken curry was mild on taste front relatively as that dish rightly overpowered my tastebuds. Dal makhani out here is made using traditional more than 48 hours slow cooking method and that deserves a great thumbs up. A must order as dal to sip on or combine it with plain rice.
Towards the end we had Murgh Zafrani Pulao ) and it was piping hot, cooked under 40 mins (it was worth a wait) this long grained pulao had well-balanced spices, chicken pieces and the paste of curry to blend it.
We settled at last for simple kulfi. Well just like any other one, a nice thick milked kulfi with a drizzle of sauce over it.
All in all, I love this place to fullest, and it remains my best restaurant in Sahara Star.
