What Makes It Awesome?

Home chef is a cafe which is located in Shivaji Park, Dadar. You have to walk past the sabzi mandi and walk straight towards Shivaji park road. The cafe isn't very difficult to locate.

Once you enter the cafe, you'll have a very realistic feel to it. There is a wide cemented seating area which is just connected from one wall to the other and on the other side of the table, there are wooden chairs. The tabletops are 4 small tiles put together which is an innovative idea. Haven't seen anything like this anywhere else.

Now let's come to the main part: FOOD !! I first ordered an ice cream float cola and then an Oreo shake. The ice cream float was just perfect. The cola has the frizz and it had a scoop of vanilla ice cream inside (which is my favourite flavour in the usual ones). It was honestly a perfect blend. Next, I had the Oreo shake. It was served in a tall glass with a single Oreo biscuit side on the top. One can taste the Oreo mixed in the shake. However, for my taste, the shake was a little wattery.
Next, I ordered kheema omelette and bhurji pav. The kheema omelette was served with two long pieces of bread with butter on it, a hash brown on top and baked beans on the side. I was very impressed by the plating because I've never seen such a fancy plating in a cafe. The omelette was stuffed with cheese and between the omelette outside was the kheema cooked in Indian style. I couldn't get enough of the kheema omelette with cheese. They gave the baked beans a little Indian style tadka by cooking it in capsicum and tomatoes. The hash brown was superb and it was different. When I tasted the hash brown, it had a different taste. Either it was baked or it was cooked in an air fryer. Really appreciate the diversity. Next up was my bhurji pav. The plating was the same except the omelette was replaced by anda bhurji. Oh my god (Janice style for those of you who follow FRIENDS), the bhurji was cooked in perfect street style. I was damn impressed and I just couldn't get enough of it. I wanted to order it again and again. It was so amazing. This is surely a must-try from my end.

I concluded the visit by ordering plain garlic bread and Aglio Olio pasta (spaghetti). The garlic bread was the long bread which was served in the dishes I had previously ordered. Next up was the Aglio Olio spaghetti. It was cooked to perfection. They have both veg and non-veg options. I had ordered the non-veg one. It was served in a pan dish to me and had loads of chicken and chilli flakes. Even though I can't eat spicy food, this is one dish I couldn't resist. I wish I could pack it all up and take it home.

All in whole my experience in this small cafe was nice and pleasant. Oh btw, when you go to the washroom, don't forget to notice the quirky signs inside and outside the washroom. This place is worth a visit.
