What Makes It Awesome?

South High Restaurant And Bar, part of Malgudi & banana leaf team, is known for its south Indian food delights. This place is a mix of veg and non-veg food with an amazing combination of cocktails and mocktails.

Authentic flavours, bold use of spices, south Indian food at its best. A selection of dishes comprising of different regions of the south. That's what makes this very special.

Being located in Malad, this place is surely an attraction for people working in BPOs / corporate in Mind space area.

Ambience:
Very well designed. Copper finish & wooden finish seating. Banana leaf placed on a table to give you the feel of the south. Ideal place for small gatherings.

Service: Good Service. Very polite and suggestive. Great suggestions for food.

Mocktails-

Anarasa: Rasam in a fusion mocktail. Pineapple in rasam was mixed. Spice punch from rasam and chilli with sweetness from pineapple was good

Jigar kulir: a combination of jaggery, coconut with basil seeds and cinnamon on top. Refreshing, good to go with your Appetizers as it was very light.

Pacchadi refresher: Southern version of buttermilk with coconut and cucumber. A Delight to have..!!

Appetizer:
Paneer kadipatta: Malai Panner pan tossed in kadi patta gravy. Beautiful in flavours. Highly Recommended

Rajni dosa: Dosa taco is a nice concept. A mix of potato masala with garlic n spice and a limited amount of cheese. Just superb. Sprinkled on top of tacos was crispy dosa Chura.
Nice concept of serving dosa with different fillings.

Beetroot urundai: Little spicy, but delicious. Crispily fried beetroot mixed with garlic and spices. Little cheese in it. The sweetness from beetroot with the spice tasted good.

Mains-

Thali:

The thali is a big attraction in this place. You cannot miss that. With such a huge variety, we decided thali to be an ideal option to relish different flavours of the south. Our decision proved it to be perfect.
The thali served was one of the best south Indian thali we have ever tasted.
Great selection of vegetables with condiments to accompany.

Condiments: Garlic chutney, Copra chutney, and IMLI ginger chutney.
All the chutney tasted really amazing. Especially, ginger IMLI chutney bold flavours of ginger with Tanginess.

starter:
Coorg idli: Tomato gravy mixed with spices and tossed with idlis.

Masala dal Wada: Crispy, South's favourite with some onions.

Kira Medu Wada: Medu Wada with palak.
served with chilly fry.

Vegetables:
Pachadi: white pumpkin & palak vegetable with coconut gravy. Beautiful flavours.
Black chana aloo curry: Semi gravy with black chana and onions.

Urlai poriyal: coconut.based vegetable with sweet potato. Little sweet n spice in the flavour.

Paneer chetinaad: One of the most aromatic dish. A speciality from Tamil Nadu. Little garlic in flavour. Nice spice punch with paneer chunks.

A must in every thali: beautiful rasam, yummy Sambhar, raita, brown rice.

Bread:
Malabar paratha; Soft, hot and just pickle would be enough to relish paratha. Perfect.

Uttapam: Little thick and fluffy as served in the south. Dip in sambar or chutney, delicious.
Puri: Perfection to go with our sabji.

Sweet: Nothing better to end our meal than the authentic sweet from the south.

Coconut ladoo: Malai and coconut mixture. Not over sweet.

Kiwi sheera: Different take from pineapple sheera. Kiwi flavour had nice tanginess.
Semiya payasam: Loaded with dry fruits, this was our favourite dish. This.milk based sweet served with vermicelli noodles, little elaichi to give that aroma.
This thali surely was a celebration of flavours from the South. With unlimited serving, this thali is a total value for money.

Overall, this place is surely a delight for people who really like to relish authentic south flavours.
Surely visiting again.
