What Makes It Awesome?

One of those restaurants that you'd love to go back again and again. If you're looking for authentic South Indian cuisine then Gughan Supreme at Marine Lines won't disappoint you one bit. The food is absolutely scrumptious. They serve Tamilian style Sambar (which is something I love as it's loaded with Dal and veggies).

We ordered Rasam, Ghee Idli Milagapodi, Chettinadu Dosai and Seera. Although I'm not a fan of Ghee laden food, this Idli was something else altogether. The flavour of ghee was subtle and the gunpowder made this dish absolutely delicious. The Chettinadu Dosai had a Vegetable Chettinadu gravy smeared on the inside of the Dosai. Indeed, a unique Dosai I've tried, which was spicy and flavourful. The Rasam had chunks of tomato and onions which was unusual. Although the flavours and spicy kick from this were as expected.

They have a vast menu consisting of various types of Idlis, Dosai and Oothappam. They also have numerous gravies to go with an array of Parotas. I'd recommend you to go an empty stomach if you plan to indulge in their Thali or Tiffin Combo.

The decor reminds one of those olden style heritage homes in the Southern part of India. The menu is reasonably priced and value for money. With everything working in its favour, Gughan is literally one of the best South Indian restaurants in Bombay
