From The Land Of Valleys, Mutton And Colours

Namak Swaad Anusaar is the venture started off by Jasleen Marwah, a media professional and recently turned home chef.

Her love for Kashmiri food transformed into a passion project, and after a year of tastings and trials, ahe signed up with Authenticook.

Chow Down

Jasleen offers her home dining experience out of her Goregaon flat. Currently, on Authenticook she is offering two meals.

Though Kashmiri food is more meat heavy, Jasleen says she can easily conjure up delicious vegetarian meal if requested. The food reminiscent of the Kashmiri valley includes starter, main course, accompaniments and ends with Kashmiri desserts.

There’s dum aloo, tamatar wangun {brinjals cooked in tomato and Kashmiri spices}, maaz yakhni that is mutton pieces cooked in a broth of spices and then finished in slow cooked yoghurt and topped with mint. For desserts, Kong Phirni – which is basically rawa cooked in milk and saffron.

So, We're Saying...

Jasleen has been filling in the gap for authentic Kashmiri food in the city. The recipes have been passed on by generations, some learnt on the way, and spices or sauff brought in from her hometown, Srinagar.

Take a trip down the this delicious culinary journey. She also takes party order, or orders for meals for large parties.
