What Makes It Awesome
Inaaya is a sustainable brand founded in 2016 by Shivangi Lahoty, who shuttles between Mumbai and Ahmedabad. The idea of creating the brand came to her while working on a college project on upcycling. For that, she collected fabric scraps of six major designers in the country, and made upcycled garments out of them.
They make easy clothing for women using cotton, linen and handloom chanderi cloth, with a strong emphasis on hand embroidery. Light hues and pastels make it to the colour palette here – pleasing to the eye.
Her designs also include clothing pieces like shirt dresses (INR 4,000), Ikat jackets (INR 3,000), sustainable sarees (INR 30,000), Anarkalis (INR 16,000), earrings and more.
Upcycle All The Way
In their collection, they’ve used leftover materials from their own brand and have created cushion covers, tyre seats, earrings and other accessories from it. We’re loving the upcycled tyre seats {using torn or punctured tyres} which they are making on order.
After disinfecting a tyre, it’s covered with fabrics and a cushion is added to the hollow part, making it a comfortable seating option. You can get them for INR 3,000 approx. by placing an order. This will be delivered within 4-5 days to you.
