In case your taste-buds are craving for some Dabba Gosh and Mutton Biryani, we've found the perfect Bohri address for you that you might want to pin on your map.

What Makes It Awesome

We headed to Kaka Kaki on an afternoon this week and our mind was blown by how scrumptious the Thaal was. Located in Santacruz, this small cafe started out as a delivery joint last year, and has recently come up with a humble establishment that welcomes everyone to devour on a huge meal that's curated with with love, and for love.

Bohri Thaals are known for propagating bonding amidst foodies. And Mr. and Mrs. Darukhanawala, the owners who are fondly labelled as Kaka and Kaki bring in exactly those elements in their Bohri cafe. They started this off as a passion project, to offer a comfy and homely Thaal experience to people. The decor is simple, with paintings done by Kaki on all the walls, and the service too is very homely. (You'll have a great time chatting up with Kaka)

Coming to food, we started the food marathon with a welcome drink- a cup of refreshing jaljeera nimbu soda, and were then served with a signature Chatpata Aloo, mixed in tamarind chutney, and a caramel pudding (yes, you get a dessert before the main course) that was soft, with the right amount of caramel, cream, a little bit of pista, topped with kesar. We moved on to Chicken Creamy Tikka (basically the showstopper) that literally melted in the mouth. With generous stuffing, this one is foodgasm. For main course, we called for their signature Dabba Gosh and Mutton Biryani, a classic Bohri combo in the Thaal, which left us wanting for more. And just when we thought we were done, Kaka recommended the bottle gourd halwa and we're only glad we called for it. With the right quantity of mithaas, this was another winner at Kaka Kaki.

The cafe revives the feeling of community eating, where not only family members, but also a group of eight unknowns can unite together to bond over a Thaal. And if you're looking for this unique experience, you know where to go now.

Pro-Tip

The Curated Menu changes every week, so make sure you call the joint up and get to know about them before visiting. Also, don't forget to try the Creamy Kebabs.
