Run by a Goan-Mangalorean family, Mangoes restaurant in Malad West is an absolute go-to for authentic  comfort food at unbelievable rates.

Chow Down

The restaurant is actually on the terrace of a residential building, which has been transformed into an eatery. The decor is on the bare side, but has the comforting vibe of eating at your Goan friends’ place.

We were a group of three, including one Goan. We ordered eight different dishes, ranging from egg and seafood to chicken and pork. The best part about Mangoes is that the focus is not just on seafood {though that’s divine as well}. This place is the real deal even when it comes to poultry, pork and beef.

The Roce Omlette, chicken Cafreal, prawn masala and sausage pulao are absolutely worth ordering. Surprisingly, the fish and chips they served here are some of the best we’ve had in town.

The staff are super sweet and someone from the family running this eatery is always around; they not only help you decide what to order but are also up for a chat about the place, how it came to be, and the people who’ve eaten there.

Need To Know

The restaurant is located just off the Link Road in Malad West You could take an auto the entire way or from Malad Station. Though it’s a tiny, family0run place, a reservation is recommended. But then again, maybe that’s why. Also, they are shut on Mondays.

So We're Saying...

Not one thing we tried at Mangoes disappointed us even in the slightest, hitting the right note with almost everything we ate. I recommend this highly for anyone looking for an authentic and relaxed dining experience in Mumbai.
