What Makes It Awesome

The Mumbai Art Collective is an artistic and literary online community which is all about bringing art and literature alive. Aspiring writers, you could also catch your big break and publish your own book with their help!

Started off by 19-year-old students Ishaan Jajodia, Kabeer Khurana and Tanay Punjabi, the idea behind the community cum publishing house is to have a dedicated space for art and literature. It encourages people from the city to get involved with the help of guest columnists, curated poetry, great literature, upcoming writers, intellectually stimulating discussions and book recommendations, guided walkthroughs, and even poetry slamming sessions for you to watch.

The idea is to get people together and organise discussions and engage with varied opinions. The themes they have explored vary from “Why is art considered taboo in India”, “Art of War”, our cultural heritage as a literary inspiration, contemporary issues at home, dealing with life changes and more.

If you’d like to get involved, there are plenty of ways. You can attend engage in online discourse. You could get your book published with their publishing wing “Bombaykala”  or even write for them (they’re always looking for new talent and give double the royalties to the writer!). Additionally, they also have a discussion hub for literature: Curato’s a great place to get new book recommendations and find stimulating conversations.

It’s a great way to explore interesting topics on art and literature and you can engage with new, established people who lead the sessions and find a renewed love for all things literature.

Keep yourself updated with their events on Facebook.
