What Makes It Awesome

It's that time of year again. And by that, we mean the Monsoons. And one thing that we absolutely cannot do without is umbrellas. I don't know about you, but I certainly have a tendency to stock up on these essentials in case one gets lost here and there as they tend to do. And this time around, while you're looking to get your basics in place, why not also chip in for a good cause. You get a sturdy umbrella and you also get to contribute to a good cause while doing it.

Introducing Nethra Umbrellas, an initiative taken by the NADE or National Association Of Disabled Enterprises's. This initiative is an ongoing project to generate employment for differently-abled persons so they can be financially stable and independent. Currently, the initiative has benefited 150 beneficiaries. The umbrellas are assembled by visually challenged persons and are made in NADE's Vikhroli workshop with the help of other differently-abled persons.

The umbrellas are of high quality, durable and built to last. They are priced from INR 400 to 700. Besides retailing their standard designs, they also take bulk orders for customisation. They can be purchased via Whatsapp and a Google form. Shipping is free.

NADE also accepts donations. One donation of INR 10,000 supports a single beneficiary for a whole year. You can get in touch with them to know how you can help more.

Pro-Tip

Besides just purchasing their umbrellas, you can also help NADE via donations to continue their efforts in training and generating employment for those who are differently abled.
