The cafe has got all sorts of brews and what we enjoyed during our visit here was how the aroma of freshly brewed coffee that fills the air of the entire space. Pair your coffee with go-to breakfast options like waffles, eggs, crepes, and pancakes. Health-conscious individuals can’t miss this place, as they also serve nutrient-dense smoothies and vegan food that is brimming with protein.

Bawri

Bawri has quickly amassed a following, all thanks to chef Amninder Sandhu who fondly celebrates and prepares regional food from all parts of India. You can satisfy your palette with some gutti aloo, kakori kebab, litti smoked baingan, and raan biryani, and that’s just the tip of the iceberg. Bawri embraces Indian culture in all its glory, and it is not only reflected in their diverse cuisine but also in their traditional and extravagant interiors.

Araku

Araku is a heaven for coffee enthusiasts who also have a penchant for surreal architecture. The ingredients here are sourced from tribal farmers, who practise regenerative agriculture and grow pepper, millet, and Arabica coffee, along with other staples. The name itself comes from a tribal community, and it translates to “red soil.” While you’re here, you can try their unique beeswax ice cream and wholesome peas, served with yoghurt and sesame.

The interiors of Larrikin are just as extravagant and otherworldly as its name. The restaurant is Godfather-era themed, with dim lights, and elegant furniture. Furthermore, they also host jazz nights and live performances, creating a sophisticated yet relaxed ambience.

Ode

Ode is a restaurant where you can immerse yourself in the European dining culture, and the pioneer of the cuisine himself, Chef Rahul Akrekar, overlooks the preparation of all dishes. At Ode, there’s an open kitchen where you can watch chefs put their magic to work and enjoy the live cooking show. You’ll be pleasantly surprised to see that most dishes here have a unique Maharashtrian twist. They’ve got peanut thecha, rum-glazed pork ribs, khan-deshi kala masala mole, and amazing beverages that are all curated to form a novel cuisine.

Aamchee

Aamchee is a quaint and elegant cafe, that celebrates the heritage of Mumbai’s food, which is an amalgamation of all the settled communities and neighbourhoods. The old-world charm of the place will draw you in, but you will stay for their otherworldly food. Each dish served here has a nostalgic story connected to it. You can try out their Chettiar style Matunga Rasam with crispy idli croutons, or starters like vada pav sliders, creamy makai upma, and dabeli crostini.

Tango Tamari is perhaps the most distinct restaurant on the list, as it serves Nikkei cuisine, which in itself is a rarity.
