We may once in a while like spending on fine-dines and Instagram the posh life, but what never goes out of fashion, is a well-made plate of delectable chaat. We love it in all forms, shapes, and sizes, and every bite of it takes us closer to what heaven would feel like. And if you love your chaat too, you've got to keep this list handy, friend.

Anupam Sweets, Andheri

We hear the dahi bhel here (which only costs INR 60) is the bomb. The murmura is garnished with the right amount of spices, and topped with a generous quantity of dahi. In case you're an Andheri kid, you must find your way to Anupam Sweets. Yeh iconic hai.

Price: Their Special Dahi Vada will cost you INR 85 and the Sindhi Pani Puri will cost you INR 65.

Gupta Chaat Center, Matunga

Want to get experimental? Try the Grilled Toast Sev Puri for INR 80 at Gupta Chaat Center. This one started as a tiny establishment and has grown with time because of the lip-smacking chaat that they assemble. It's pretty famous amongst college and office goers, and we guarantee a plate refill once you start your chaat marathon here.

Price: INR 30 and up (Yes, very pocket-friendly)

Jai Durga Pani Puri Centre, Ghatkopar Khau Gully

Now Mumbai has no dearth of Khau Gullies but what stands out is the one at Ghatkopar East. If you're asking why, we'd recommend you to go and try some ice cold pani puri at Jai Durga Pani Puri Center and then some Sev Puri and Papdi Chaat. You'll figure why we recommended this one when you're done pigging out! Make this part of of your Ghatkopar Khao Gully pilgrimage.

Price: INR 30 for a plate of Pani Puri

Kailash Parbat (Several Outlets)

This one's a tad-bit pricey, but undoubtedly one of the main players in the chaat maidan. This one will work for those of you who are exceptionally wary about eating at roadside stalls. While Pani Puri vagera toh you'll get, we'd recommend going for the more extravagant dishes here. Try the Halwai Mutter Kachori (INR 175) and the Bombay Basket (INR 220).

Price: INR 155 and up

Sindh Paani Puri House, Chembur

Ever tried a Bhajiya Chaat? If you haven't yet, add this joint in Chembur to your list. Their button papdi chaat (a speciality from Ulhasnagar) is famous as well. And in case you have a huge appetite, end it with the dahi and pani puri, oh and the dahi kachori too. Basically, everything's super tasty here and don't ask us to choose one.

Price: Everything here is super cheap and within INR 100!

Ram Shyam Stall, Santacruz

Ram Shyam at Santacruz doles out some incredibly good street food.. We fell for the dahi papdi chaat that's made with cold curd, sweet and spicy chutneys and crunchy puris. Their pani puri is exceptionally good as well, with perfectly balanced flavours.

Price: INR 60 and up

Swati Snacks, Tardeo

The Tardeo outpost of Swati Snacks is probably the one place that makes to everyone’s must-eat list in Mumbai, and as legend goes we might even bump into Mukesh Ambani and family on Sunday mornings. If you've got a super delicate stomach with little tolerance for teekha food, this is a safe option for you. And your America-return relatives who wanna try chaat.

Price: INR 150 onwards

Sharma Chaat Bhandar

What started off as a small chaat thela at JVPD is now right inside Amrapali Shopping Centre. Locally legendary, Sharma Chaat Bhandar has been around for decades, and has always had swarms of people queuing up for their dose of chaat, every evening. They only use bottled water, and we hear they fry up their puris themselves. Love it!
The only downside - ragda wala pani puri nahi milega. But don't worry, we don't think you'll miss it.

Price: INR 40 for the sev puri, 60 for the pani puri

Gupta Sandwich And Snacks Corner, Nerul

Haan yaar, there are multiple Guptas. This one's in Nerul, and it's got a lot more than chaat. So even your badi bhookh will be dealt with when you visit. Still really easy on the pocket, they've got a great Kachori Sev Puri and Bhel Puri. They're not stingy at all about their fillings and toppings, and you can really tell from the first bite that there's no skimping on flavour, either!

Price: INR 30 onwards

Jai Ganesh Chaat, Santacruz West

Sometimes, roadside carts and thelas surprise you with what they can do. Jai Ganesh Chaat started off as a vendor that served great chaat made entirely with bottled water, with super hygienic prep. You'll even find hand sanitizers at the stall. What wowed us was the fact that their pani puri is dispensed, well, by an actual pani puri machine. You receive a plate with puris stuffed with dry filling, and you get to take each puri to the machine's dispenser, which senses your hand holding up the puri, and dispenses the water. Once you're done with creating and sharing several videos of this novel experience, do try the Chhole-Tikki as well!

Price: INR 50 onwards
