It’s been months now, but we’ve been avoiding heading to Sephora’s new shop in Palladium. But with a new month comes a new payday, and we’ve gone forth to tell you the best from the iconic shop.
A Beginner's Guide To Shopping {And Spending Too Much} At Sephora
Shortcut
Shop On
The Sephora store in Mumbai lives up to its promise. Though it seems a tad small on first glance, it’s packing a lot of beauty into a tiny space. There’s even an eyebrow station, the Benefit Brow Bar, if you, like us, wish to be #onfleek {sorry, won’t say that ever again}.
Among the brands we found were the house brands, which included the face masks which have curried so much favour among Hollywood stars on Instagram. We also found brands such as Stila, Benefit High Beam, Make Up For Ever, Boscia, Soap & Glory, Burt’s Bees, Nyx, and so on. What we also liked about this shop were the ample number of testers, and how well they were maintained. Besides that, it’s easy to get overwhelmed by the sheer variety of paraphernalia. Around 60 make-up brushes, 80 shades of nail polish, and around 70 shades of lipstick.
But the best aspect, so far, is how helpful the staff is without being intrusive. Often, shopping for make-up can feel like a vaguely traumatic experience with the helpful suggestions about how our various problems can be ‘fixed’. Here, the assistant was helpful and professional, only volunteering information when requested. She expertly chose the right foundation shade for us, and stayed away from the ‘whitening’ hard-sell without being prompted to.
So, We're Saying...
Sephora has lived up to the hype. Definitely check it out – but keep your purse strings loose, because the bill can rack up – our total bill for five items came up to INR 6,000.
