What Makes It Awesome

Marine Lines' B Bhagat Tarachand really has down to earth staff. The interiors of the spot are pretty neat. The food is so delicious, you tend to over eat always. Great for people who miss home food. And the outlet is really pocket-friendly. The dal makhni and jeera rice are just to die for! The traditional papad churi just makes the meal worthwhile. Also, they serve lassi in a fancy coloured bottle and its called Kutchi beer.

While talking to the owner who sits there himself, I learnt that the food is freshly cooked and there are no leftovers served to the guests. Even the paneer and other dairy products are made in-house. That's what makes this place feel very home style. Also, the owner was kind enough to give me a tour of the kitchen and it was super clean and well maintained.

The rotis we ordered were so soft and fluffy, it's a perfect compliment with their paneer makhanwala. It tasted not too spicy not too sweet, just about right. They recommended we taste their famous sev tamatar ki sabji and methi aloo. Although the names are not too fancy the dishes were just too good. I mean I would never have methi at my own house but at BBT I just could not get enough. Since we were a group of three friends we got a chance to taste a lot of dishes. For starters, we tried the hara bhara kebab and paneer tikka. They will just melt in your mouth the moment you start to eat it.

What Could Be Better?

Well, the only thing is that the staff are old school and surely not like the hip and happening ones we find these days in the newer outlets that are coming up. And their functioning is pretty traditional. But I think that's what makes this place stand out as it's not so common to find such peaceful family style North Indian restaurants in the city of dreams anymore.

What's My Pro Tip?

If you visit the Zaveri bazaar outlet, don't even attempt taking the car. Then a cab is the best option. You may have to walk for a minute to reach the place as the cab drivers drop you at the start of the lane. Also, do take a note that there are a couple of places with the name Bhagat Tarachand but what I'm talking about is B Bhagat Tarachand. So look out for the B!

Anything Else?

Apart from Zaveri Bazaar, they also have outlets at Pydhonie, Vashi Sector 12, Inorbit Mall Vashi, R City Mall Ghatkopar and Inorbit Mall Malad.
