A quaint place to have lunch with conversation's and an equally upbeat place to wine and dine in the evening {with good Cuban music, Hermanos}, Tanjore Tiffin Room offers an experience that in my view is authentic in its truest sense.
If you're going to this for the first time, your server will introduce you to all the curries on a glorious platter in mini bowls; flavours ranging from the sourest tamarind flavour curry to rich Khorma gravy amongst a host of others. Then, you can choose whether you want to have fish, prawns, chicken, mutton or veggies in your choice of the curry. They have variations in rice too.
The Mutton Khorma with Appam tasted godlike and in that moment I could only imagine the extraordinary flavours that the lanes of Tanjore had to offer. There's also a tamarind gravy that you can have as an accompaniment; you will find that it grows on you.
We tried their Mutton Khorma, Appam, Tamarind Fish, Idiyappam, Tamarind Fish Curry, Yellow Curry {Chicken}, and Malabar Parotta. And, things that I want to try are Chilly Buff with Malabar Parotta and Mysore Pak.
So visit Tanjore Tiffin Room if you've never understood how and why the South Indian non-vegetarian delicacies grow to be everyone's favourite.
