Shikara is hosting a celebration of Kashmiri cuisine and culture from January 23 to January 25 during their Sair e Kashmir Festival. They'll be featuring a menu with food curated by guest chef Jasleen Marwah, soulful music by artist Mudasir Ali and also a bazaar with beautiful artefacts from the region.
The menu shines the spotlight on Kashmiri cuisine with a focus on seasonal and local specialties, both vegetarian and non-vegetarian. Nibble on appetisers like Nadur Monji or lotus stem fries and Haak te Kheema or minced mutton wrapped in haak leaf, hearty mains like Wangun Yakhni or brinjal in curd gravy, Tsoonth Nadur or apples in gravy, Harissa or slow-cooked lamb, Goshtaba or mince-meat balls in yogurt gravy. And if you've got a sweet tooth, definitely don't miss out on the shulgam phirni, shahi akrot and seb ka shufta. Simple, flavourful and slow-cooked, Kashmiri cuisine is all about rich flavour and plenty of heart. Your meal will also be serenaded by the beautiful strains of live music that you can listen to as you sip on Kahwa and savour the flavours of the valley. The festival is on from 23rd January - 25th January 2020.
