Purple Rice at Nara Thai

Nara Thai – a regional Thai food restaurant from Singapore, Bangkok and Sri Lanka serves authentic Thai food items. With Thai food, all the food items come to the table together and you mix and match the items. If you’re sampling main course here, we recommend the butterfly pea rice dish, which is blue in colour. The hue doesn’t come from artificial food colouring, but from a crushed Thai flower called the Butterfly pea that exudes a jasmine flavor. Interestingly, once you squeeze some lime on the rice, the beautiful blue changes its shade to purple. Wouldn’t that just be spectacular on your news feed?

The Flower Port by Jamjar Diner

Jamjar Diner has a different take on a brownie; it’s the Flower Pot dessert where the ‘top soil’ is actually made of crushed oreos, the ‘mud’ underneath is in reality a mix of gooey brownies, ice-cream, and marshmallow chunks which all come together to form this unique dessert. The final touch is an orchid flower sitting pretty right at the top, but it’s real, so don’t eat that!
