Every Tuesday, we explore different musical possibilities at The Little Door. For this edtion of ALL THAT JAZZ, nrtya brings you JAZZTRONAUT on 27th June, Tuesday. Also, there's a good news, that one Tuesday, every month, nrtya shall be taking over the jazz residency from us. Ensemble Cast: Aditi Ramesh (Vocals), Mohit Rao (Guitar), Keenan Thomas (Bass) and Ishan Jadwani (Drums) Here's what you need to know about each of these Musicians: Aditi Ramesh - She is a vocalist, songwriter and producer inspired by the blues, jazz and traditional Carnatic music in which she has been trained since childhood. Formerly a corporate lawyer, her musicality has experienced exponential growth since quitting at the end of 2016, with her solo performances incorporating a variety of genres, electronic drums and live keys. She has recently begun musical accompaniment and composition for theatre and dance productions and she sings lead vocals and plays the keys for her band, Ladies Compartment. Mohit Rao - He is a musician, composer and producer based in Mumbai. Coming from a rock and blues background, he eventually developed a deep rooted appreciation and interest in understanding the language of jazz. He proceeded to studying at Swarnabhoomi Academy of Music where he had the opportunity to study privately under well renowned musicians. Now back in Mumbai, he's focussed on working in the live indie music scene where he is the producer and guitarist at Laminus in addition to playing guitar for Jazztronaut. Keenan Thomas - Keenan aka Mr. Keenan is a Bassist & Producer from Mumbai. As a Producer, he makes music with Laminus & Tansane and as a Bassist, he has performed through his college & school years at various festivals and venues. After taking a 4 year break from music, Keenan returned to study Music Production & Bass at Swarnabhoomi Academy of Music, and is now back in Mumbai to make the earth shake with his low end vibrations. Ishan Jadwani - He is a drummer who started playing drums at the age of 4, currently based in Mumbai. His passion for drums is impeccable. He's has been playing for a lot of fusion and pop bands in Mumbai and many other artists. Ishan teaches drums at Furtado’s School of Music. The forecast is of a perfect night out. See you there!
