Every Tuesday, we explore different musical possibilities at The Little Door - Mumbai For this edition of ALL THAT JAZZ, nrtya takes over and flips it with some Jazz fusion featuring the pathbreaking and legendary virtuosos, the Sanjay Divecha Trio on 26th September, this #Tuesday! The music of the trio will be exploring a variety of stylistic genres all influenced by the Jazz tradition with a special emphasis on improvisation on both individual and collective. Sanjay Divecha A globally renowned veteran composer and guitarist, Sanjay is a graduate from the esteemed Guitar Institue of Technology, Los Angeles and since then has been featured on Danny Boyle's Oscar winning flick, 127 Hours, with the original movie score with A.R. Rahman being nominated for the The Academy award, performed on award winning and critically acclaimed sound tracks for cinema all around the globe, performed with some of the biggest jazz musicians in the world at the Playboy Jazz Festival, Hollywood Bowl and the New Orleans Jazz Festival, performed in the cream of the LA jazz ciruit for 15 years and has arranged, orchestrated and played the guitar with some of best in the business for top Bollywood flicks. Gino Banks Official Gino has been fooling around with the drums since he was 8 years old and took it up seriously at the age of 15. He is the son of Louiz Banks, India 's legendary jazz pianist and composer. Gino is a versatile player, this trait leads him to performing and recording with artists and bands of all types of genres. He has also had the Honor and Privilege of playing a few tracks on the Miles From India Album produced by Bob Belden, nominated for a 2009 Grammy in the Contemporary Jazz Category with Times Square Records, NYC; a fusion of Great Indian Classical Musicians and Miles Davis Alumni Musicians. Sheldon D'Silva Started his career at the age of 12 and now in his 30's, Sheldon has gained invaluable experience playing his Six String Bass Guitar with adept musicians like Louiz Banks, Zakir Hussain, Taufiq Quereshi, Fazal Quesreshi, Shankar Mahadevan, Ustad Rashid Khan, Pandit Vishwa Mohan Bhatt, Shaan, Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia, Rakesh Chaurasia, Niladri Kumar, U Srinivas, Selva Ganesh, Colonial Cousins, Suneeta Rao, Joe Alvares and many more. At age 20 he performed with International legends like George Duke, Al Jarreau, Ravi Coltrane, Earl Klugh, and later with greats like Mike Stern, Trilok Gurtu, Guthrie Govan, Vinnie Colaiuta, Steve Smith, Dhafer Youssef, Talvin Singh, Gypsy All Stars (Gypsy Kings), Mattias IA Elundh, Abbos Kosimov Doyra, Bugge Wesseltoft, George Brooks, Rory Stuart, Marilena Paradisi, Grammy winner Bob Belden, and The Siemens Big Band from Germany. He is a part of bands such as SILK, SiTARFUNK, Louiz Banks Matrixx, D – Company, India’s Premier Rock Band INDUS CREED and his band Nexus. Sheldon performed at the Montréal Jazz Festival, Borneo Jazz Festival, Cape Town Jazz Festival, Java Jazz Festival 2016 and Festival Internacional Cervantino 2016.
