Bombay Drawing Room brings you a unique form of art "Dot Art", practiced in Australia & other indigenous cultures across the globe as a means of story telling. We will be a painting a contemporary take, "The Calming Lotus" with the dot art technique using acrylic paints on canvas. Aboriginal Dot Art : A dot painting is the technique to produce repeated imprints of a paint covered brush, dotting stick onto the surface of the painting and that in doing so, there are recognisable 'dot' marks on the canvas. Aboriginal art is based on story- telling, using symbols as an alternate method of writing down stories of cultural importance, as well as transmitting knowledge on matters of survival and land management. It is also known to be therapeutic & calming. Have a relaxing Saturday evening while you paint your masterpieces. Snack, a beer & the art material is on the house. Music will be curated by Rhett Rodrigues, a jazz musician. There are limited seats so RSVP quickly on Insider.
