Kutiyattam is one of the oldest forms of Sanskrit theatre from Kerala. Ammannur Rajaneesh Chakyar is a Kutiyattam artist from Thrissur who is trained in Ammannur style of performance under Padmabhushan Dr. Ammannur Madhava Chakyar.
In this exclusive 75 minute performance from the play 'Thoranayudham', Rajaneesh will enact the piece: ‘Kailasodharanam'. The performance includes storytelling and dance-drama. It will be followed by QnA with the artist.
‘Kailasodharanam': is a piece of drama from the Indian epic Ramayana, in which the mighty demon King Ravana encounters Mount Kailasa and the ensuing events culminate in a curse that ends his life at a later stage.
