What's Happening

If you're clueless about where to head to during Christmas, we've got your back. Kokan Bhumi Pratishthan, an NGO rooting for the overall development of the Konkan belt of Maharashtra, is organizing it's very first Village Tourism Festival, for you to get a taste of the ways of rural life.

It also kick-starts the 1st phase of the 8th Global Konkan Festival. The event commences  in a village called Arnala, in Konkan, and covers three more villages, namely-Ainshet (Wada), Chowl (Revdanda), and Ambivali (Palghar).

The NGO's key focus is to promote job opportunities for the locals of these regions, and also give a slice of the rural ways, to the city-dwellers. So its a win-win situation for everyone.

Talking about the fun events, there will be local games like bullock-cart racing. Apart from that, there is paramotoring, rappelling, kayaking, paragliding, and boating. This isn't all though.

Kokan Bhoomi will also take you to a village called Mamachi Wadi, an agro-tourism center in Arnala, which boasts of its rich flora and fauna. And after you are done with admiring the beauty of nature, you can head out for shopping at the Konkan flea markets, and then gorge on local Konkan delicacies. Call the NGO up on 9923781069/022-24324260, and book your slot.
