Peepshow provides just the right platform that Indie Filmmakers seek in order to showcase their work. The curation of the films is done in collaboration with antiSOCIAL and Lights on Films, an independent film production house in Mumbai. The line up includes: "Shut Up" directed by Ashutosh Pathak {25 minutes}. It's a story set amidst a society teetering on the edge of extremism and paranoia, and about one day in the life of a regular guy who decides to join a free-speech protest on the streets, but finds a revolution in the most unusual of places. "Alpha" directed by Sachin Pillai {21 mins}. The film 'Alpha' thus explores the idea of navigating through the various stages of dreams - being R.E.M, Slow Wave, the Watch, Lucid Dreams and the Trance - interpreted by the movements of a performer set amidst the gorgeous backdrop of the Himalayas. The installations in the film made by various artists are treated as parts of the dreamscape, accompanied by audio that is derived and composed from the environment, the installations and performances themselves. This film was made over one month in the remote village of Kalga, Himachal Pradesh as the unified collaborative result of the Karma Yatri Travel & Art Experiment. The project involved 10 artists-in-residence from various nationalities and artistic disciplines panning installations, experimental music, ceramics, sculpture, film, new media, performance & architecture. "Sthir" has been directed by Anna Ador {8 minutes}. This is the story of a Belarusian girl, learning Indian Kathak dance in the city of Mumbai. It captures her at a pivotal point in her personal and artistic journey. We watch as she comes face to face with the full intensity of her disorienting new world, typified in the Hindu festival of Ganapati. And how, in the midst of chaos, she achieves a startling balance.
