Class Goal - To learn how to make your own leather journal Pre-requisites - Enthusiasm and an interest in book binding/handcrafting Materials Provided - All materials provided. What to bring - Pencil/pen, ruler, scissors (optional), paper cutter (optional) Instructor Biography - Khyati Dodhia is a photographer and the owner of The Black Canvas where she designs, creates handcrafted leather products and retails them at www.theblackcanvas.in. Khyati has always felt the need to use her hands to craft things. Back in 2012, she dabbled with making leather journals for herself and eventually for friends and customers, and that is how her brand The Black Canvas came to be. She has been hand-stitching leather journals since then and has made over a 100 journals through the years, many with bespoke handpainted artworks, but each one a unique piece. She believes that to make something with your own hands in an intimate, natural process. It gives you the satisfaction of crafting something valuable, unique and yours. Class capacity - 10 participants Age Group & Audience - 15 and above *Note: The leather used for the workshop is genuine leather. If you do not use real leather, arrangements can be made for faux leather/rexine upon request. Please mention this while signing up for the workshop.
