Symphony Orchestra of India: Autumn 2017

The Autumn 2017 Season concerts by the Symphony Orchestra of India will feature international star conductors and soloists, and both popular classics and contemporary music. Conductor Jacek Kaspszyk, music director of the Warsaw National Philharmonic Orchestra, will make his debut with the SOI leading two programmes, featuring violinist Dan Zhu, widely recognized as one of the finest Chinese musicians on the international stage today, and rising-star cellist István Várdai - cellist. Sir Karl Jenkins, the most performed living composer in the world, returns to the SOI to conduct his new piece The Universe. This concert will feature SOI Music Director Marat Bisengaliev on the violin as well as Living Voices - Mumbai. Renowned pianist Stephen Hough, hailed by The Guardian for “the most perfect piano playing conceivable”, will perform Beethoven’s “Emperor” concerto, conducted by SOI Resident Conductor Evgeny Bushkov.
