The evocative sound of the French horn is one of the most Romantic in all music. The horn, so well-known in the symphonic repertoire, is not heard often enough as a solo or accompanying instrument, and yet there is much beautiful music written specially for it. Moreover, the horn combined with the voice has inspired a whole genre of music, and it is this beautiful repertoire that is celebrated in this special concert. International Indian soprano Patricia Rozario is well-known to Mumbai audiences, and is especially pleased to be continuing her artistic relationship with the Royal Opera House Mumbai. She and her husband, Mark Troop, at the piano, are delighted to welcome Timothy Jones, principal horn of The London Symphony Orchestra, and one of the foremost players in the world, to participate in this unique concert. They will be performing romantic songs, arias and compositions from the likes of Gaetano Maria Donizetti, Franz Schubert Lieder, Hector Berlioz, Franz Strauss and Franz Schubert.
