The highlight of this place is the vintage interiors that may remind you of the British era in India. A perfect amalgamation of Indian delicacies and Western cuisine is quite interesting to see and experience. They have worked hard to provide you an ultimate dining experience that showcase their culinary skills in the best possible way. A thoughtfully designed food menu offers a blend of fusion recipes and the classics. The right use of ingredients and purely focusing on the flavours that they ooze make this place a must visit spot. The decor is a visual treat and several elements like gramophone, books, wooden shelves, treasure boxes and so add further beauty. A huge chandelier is what you see when you enter through a humongous wooden pathway. I could see an absolute discipline among the staff. They were highly attentive and had an eye for detailing. While I got seated on a comfortable chair, the cutlery grabbed my attention in almost no time. Right from the wine glasses to the designer plates, everything was part of that colonial era. One of the walls of dining hall had a huge map etched on it with the map of Hindustan pre 1947. Other walls had beautiful paintings that narrated several stories like villagers paying lagaan to British officials and brave hearts working towards building a strong base for the country. This place is all together a different world that promotes dining in complete peace. The flooring was of white marble while the stairs where made of pure wood. The staff were well uniformed and knew every single detail about the menu. The food presentation is out of the box and mesmerizing.
Here is what I had :
✨Appetizers✨
Avocado and Horse Gram Hummus - Have always been fond of middle eastern cuisine for a reason. The ingredients used in making the spread ooze flavours and are rich in health quotient. Hummus in any form is delicious, at least for me. Be it the classic hummus which is topped with olive oil or the one served here made of different ingredients. Unlike the traditional one, this hummus was made of avocados and Horse Gram. Ayurveda have accepted horse gram as a food with medicinal properties. High in fibre, it helps in digestion and is beneficial in weight management. Had a hummus with this combination for the first time and I am completely in love with this. To my surprise it tasted amazing. The hummus was thick in consistency and texture. While it was served along with mildly spiced Pita Bread which was equally healthy as it was Multigrain. Soft and fresh pita bread goes really well with this healthy hummus. Adding truffle oil on the top added a unique and sharp flavour to it. The aroma was so strong that you can almost smell it from a distance. Highly Recommended 🤘🏻
Mushroom Duxelle Kucha - For all those who love mushrooms like I do. This one is specially handcrafted for you. Those kulchas were generously stuffed with mushrooms, base spices and cheese. Duxelle is basically finely chopped mix of mushrooms along with onions, shallots, herbs and spices. It was served piping hot along with a Makhani sauce. Such an amazing combination it was. The kulchas were loaded with butter and were super soft. The sweet spicy Makhani sauce was creamy and added much value. Quite heavy and filling. For me this was the star of the evening. Right on flavours and perfect preparation made it the best one. Highly Highly Recommended 🤘🏻
✨Mains✨
Classic Mac N Cheese - This is probably one such delicacy that never ever fails. The Macroni is boiled and slow cooked in cheese sauce which binds it all together to form thick and creamy blend. They are put all together and plated as a pie. Topped with tangy tomato paste and basil leaves. Initially you might find it bit dry but as you savour it, the classic flavours unfold with every bite you take. The Macroni was not overcooked which made it taste even better. It was coated with generous amount of cheese which gave it that cheesy salty taste. Highly Recommended 🤘🏻
✨Dessert✨
Afghan Jalebi - A divine dessert or snack not only popular in India but also in Afghanistan. Afghan confectioners prepare this sweet and sell them in local markets. Prepared with general purpose flour, they are deep fried. While the shape is something that makes it distinct and unique. Put in a circular motion adjoining one layer after another, they are fried till they are crisp and brown. They are then soaked in sweet thick chashni. The one served here was something very unique. Never ever had a Jalebi so big that too with whipped cream on the top. They were also topped with pistachios while the Jalebi was layered with a bit of Silver Vark. With every bite you take, the flavour of saffron will ooze out. The richness and smoothness can easily be tasted. This Jalebi was humongous and was sweet enough. Crispy and crunchy outer crust while the inner portion was all filled with sweet sugar syrup. Highly Highly Recommended 🤘🏻
Overall this place is all about charm and luxury dining. An experience to remember for long. Do visit this place and do try the most beautifully plated delicacies.
